A FRIEND IS WORTHY

A real and true friend comes along every so often, they are rare to find,
Their appearance in our life makes time seem, a bit more kind...
Some have friends by the score, but, how many are going to be there,
When you have tough times, when you have nothing but you to share?
They say you will be able to count your real friends on one hand before you die,
Strange isn't it, after all the people whose lives we have brushed against by and by?
When a new friend comes into my life, I attempt to let them know,
That I will be here for them no matter where they might go...
Life is an eventful passing of trials and tribulations, of confusion and understanding,
And, an honest friend can ease the load of pressure which is all too commanding...
I honor, I cherish the people that have entered the inner sanctuary of my heart,
There they will have refuge from the storms of fate, until my life does depart...
A friend is worthy of the same love you give your family,
And, sometimes we forget to tell them, show them, what they have come to be...
As with anyone of importance in your lifespan, embrace the here and now,
Find ways to let them know that you are grateful for their presence, let it be known somehow...
For tomorrow does not always arrive, you simply never know what is in store,
So, let those in your life feel your affection, let them know that it is for sure...
