THE EMPTY SHELL

An empty shell...

The shell of emptiness..

A shell of a nut?

What is an empty shell?

They use this to describe some people.

I do not see the correlation.

It is nearly impossible,

For a person to be an empty shell.

One can feel empty,

One can be so withdrawn,

It would seem that they are empty,

Still, they cannot be empty,

As there are too many emotions,

Senses and such,

Filling the person,

Whom some say,

Is an empty shell....

A writer has the ability to, from a single thought, create a sonnet, a poem, an article, a story, a novel, a collection, a masterpiece, and, in doing so, has the ability to create reaction which might become historical and immortal...
